Hermenegildo GarcĂa
Hermenegildo García (herme, 51) did his PhD
on Organic Photochemistry at the Universidad de Valencia
under the supervisiono f Prof. Miguel Angel Miranda.After
one postdoctoral stay at Reading University joining
the group of Prof. Andrew Gilbert, he become staff member
at the Technical University of Valencia in 1984. He
has spent four sabbatical leaves as invited Professor
at the University of Ottawa with Prof. J. C. Scaiano
working on Intrazeolite Photochemistry. Prof. García
became full Professor and member of the Institute of
Chemical Technology at the Technical University of Valencia
in 1996. He has co-authored over 350 papers, has supervised
over 25 PhDs and holds 15 Spanish and International
patents. He is currently ranked among the most-cited
Chemists according to the ISI Essential Science Indicators
Data Base. His main current interests are green chemistry
and heterogeneous catalysis where he has worked on zeolites
and related micro-/meso- porous materials as well as
metal nanoparticles, supramolecular protochemistry,
photocatalysis and nanotechnology.
